I believe it’s the desire of God’s heart to pour out His Spirit upon all man (Joel 2:28, Acts 2;17). Because true transformation and restoration could only be realized through the outpouring of His Spirit.
Isaiah 32:15-18 (NASB) Until the Spirit is poured out upon us from on high, and the wilderness becomes a fertile field, and the fertile field is considered as a forest. Then justice will dwell in the wilderness and righteousness will abide in the fertile field. And the work of righteousness will be peace, and the service of righteousness, quietness and confidence forever. Then my people will live in a peaceful habitation, and in secure dwellings and in undisturbed resting places
The Book of Genesis also gives us a clear pattern on how God reforms and restores this broken world; by releasing His Spirit to cover the earth (Gen1:2-3)! When Holy Spirit covers the earth, the power of the word of creation is activated. It starts the process of re-creation of the corrupt world (Gen 1). I believe that the same thing must happen now!
For the earth to experience the restoration of all things once again (Acts 3:21), it needs the activation of the power of the word of creation! However, it firstly needs the Spirit outpouring upon all man to manifest.
The reason is simple: the earth is corrupted by sin due to man’s disobedience. So, for the restoration of all things to take place, we need a different kind of man; those who live in the control and power of the Holy Spirit!
1. God’s church is the only catalysator for the Spirit outpouring upon all man
Actually, the promise of Spirit outpouring was firstly given by Jesus for His apostles only (Luk 24:49, Acts 1:4-5). However, after Holy Spirit has been poured out, through the apostles, the Father ‘transmits’ the fullness of the Spirit into many others whom He calls (Acts 2:38-39). Starting from His church, the Spirit will be transmitted by believers into everyone who interacts with them in their everyday life!
2. Spirit outpouring shouldn’t merely be perceived as speaking in tongues or working out gifts and the fruit of the Spirit; Spirit outpouring is the Father’s grace, promise, and blessing which connects people back to the reality of His kingdom.
For the religious, Spirit outpouring will always be seen as speaking in tongues. Even worse, for some theologian, Spirit outpouring is merely a history which will neither repeat itself nor is needed again. Some others assume that Spirit outpouring is only for some believers who have reached a certain spiritual qualification.
Acts 10:44-46 (NASB) While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit fell upon all those who were listening to the message. All the circumcised believers who came with Peter were amazed, because the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out on the Gentiles also. For they were hearing them speaking with tongues and exalting God…
Galatians 3:14 (NASB) in order that in Christ Jesus the blessing of Abraham might come to the Gentiles, so that we would receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
From the two passages above, we could take an interesting spiritual conclusion:
a. The Father gives room for the nations to enjoy and partake in the Spirit outpouring.
b. Spirit outpouring is not a religious spiritual sign, but a spiritual element which brings someone to connect once again with the reality of God’s kingdom.
c. Spirit outpouring will condition whoever receives it to be transformed drastically and dramatically.
Always remember this fundamental principle: the earth is corrupted by the power of sin which was brought by man who disobeyed, and thus, the world will be transformed by a different breed of man who lives in the power of God’s Holy Spirit!
Prepare and position yourself to partake in the Spirit outpouring that the Father will release upon all man! #iLoveGod
