Acts 2:17 (NKJV) ‘And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, that I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh; your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your young men shall see visions, your old men shall dream dreams.
I believe that it is the Father’s will to pour out His Spirit upon all man. However, He will only do that through His church!
The following are several important aspects that Holy Spirit put in my heart to make sure that we are positioned to become His working partners on this earth:
1. Guard our life and heart from all forms of negative emotions/inner conflict.
Jesus emphasized that He came to give life (zoe) so we could have it (zoe) more abundantly (John 10:10). However, this divine life (zoe) must be contained within a ‘wholesome vessel’.
I find that this is the aspect where the Devil always succeeds in deceiving many believers. The enemy keeps conditioning us to live naturally, humanly, and even in worldliness; not crucifying our flesh or living in self-denial (not living by the Spirit). When we live in such a way, we’ll always be vulnerable to disappointment, inner conflict, stress, frustration, and all kinds of raging negative emotions. As a result, although we are diligent in coming to church, or even ministering, the state of our ‘life vessel’ is always dirty and leaking!
Supposedly, the divine life (zoe) God gives abundantly could overflow into the lives of others who interact with us! However, because the enemy successfully distracted and deceived us, we become ‘leaking’ or instead are filled with negative emotions; the divine life we carry becomes ‘wasted in vain’.
Quickly consult with the Holy Spirit to find practical ways to ‘throw away the raging negative emotions’ whenever they start to surface or become ignited in our hearts.
2. Keep filling our life with His word.
Reading the word and praying in tongues more than usual will condition our hearts to be ‘full’ (Job 32:18-20). It’s like ‘shaking’ a can of soda, which will create a ‘high pressure’ within before ‘breaking out’ the contents inside.
The same goes for our lives! When we read the word and pray in tongues fervently more than usual, we are creating a ‘fullness’ in our heart. At any time, all the word and revelation of the Spirit contained within us could ‘burst out’ and touch the lives of everyone interacting with us.
3. Keep guarding our thirst and hunger of God’s reality and the heart that is burning with first love towards Him
All the Spirit outpouring that God will do through our lives is always based on a guarded level of thirst and hunger towards God. So, the Spirit could overflow from our lives not because we have to (or because we’re forced to), but because we love Him!
Keep asking the Father for the grace that enables us to live our daily life with a heart which is always filled with the fire of first love – we keep pursuing the reality of His presence through prayer, reading of the word, or worship!
And so I pray, let His divine life keeps governing our life, and to overflow more and more until abundance to reach the lives of those who interact with us! #iLoveGod
