The behavior of a nation can change drastically because of bad news. For example, the news about the Corona virus outbreak in Indonesia and two people have been infected (now more are infected), have changed many things: the way we greet each other; people take antiseptics more often and begin to wear masks; and many people, controlled by fear, did panic buying of basic necessities. All of this happened as a result of the bad news around, and people do it as a precaution and anticipation so they won’t get infected!

This made me think, why does bad news really have a big impact and spread so fast? Meanwhile, when we hear the voice of God/His word, we often deny it, do not believe in it and do not even want to be changed by it. Even though we want to be changed, the change happens very slowly. Something is wrong with us. We react quickly to bad news but not to God’s voice.

I figured, it is A BAD HABIT that have been formed by sin when we were the slave of sin! Our subconscious has been build a reactive system over bad news. And at the same time, the obedience system over the work of the Spirit and the word has been paralyzed. This is what makes us ‘similar to this world’ or easily formed by situations and conditions.

Our minds need to be transformed by the work of the Spirit and the word. We have to align our imagination, divine logic, perception, and motivation with His voice. So our lives are no longer driven by the spirits of the world, including fear. But we can manifest ourselves as the sons of God.

Suddenly I remembered the story when Jesus healed a leper.

Luke 5:12-13 (NLT) In one of the villages, Jesus met a man with an advanced case of leprosy. When the man saw Jesus, he bowed with his face to the ground, begging to be healed. “Lord,” he said, “if you are willing, you can heal me and make me clean.” Jesus reached out and touched him. “I am willing,” he said. “Be healed!” And instantly the leprosy disappeared.

Jesus risked himself by touching someone affected by leprosy, because this virus can be transmitted through direct physical contact. That is why lepers must be exiled at that time. However, Jesus as the son of God never imagined He would be infected, did not even think that He would be infected at all, and did not assume and did not think that He could be infected. He did not even think about it one bit. He only felt that the Father in heaven intended to heal the leper. He saw the Father moved, so He also moved. He thought that He is the solution, the answer and ready to do miracle for the leper. He became the LIVING SPIRIT and swallowed all the diseases in victory.

To be honest, our responses are often very different compared to Jesus when we have to deal with illness or viruses. Our reaction is still the same as the world, not the response as the son of God.

Now I understand, transformation of mind must be complete, visible and even extreme. Like a pendulum that should not be in the middle, we must not live in the middle between worldly life and living in the truth. Live totally in the truth; without other input or options in life (even fear can’t control our lives). We are the sons of God. Our minds, emotions and desires must represent the existence as the sons of God!

Once again, it doesn’t mean that we can ‘gallantly’ go to people who are infected with the virus. Don’t misunderstand me. I affirm: Live like Jesus who only reacts when He sees the Father acts/moves. He never responded to ‘any movements’ from this world!

From this, I really motivated myself to always read and declare the word; and fill my heart and mind only by His word!

The pendulum of my mind must not be in the middle. It must be extremely in the position where I always cling to, believe in, move by and only do His word! There is no other! That is the only way to live in an unshakeable Kingdom!
