This message is a continuation of yesterday’s message.

Yesterday we discussed the rise of ‘giants’ – in the form of the Coronavirus outbreak and various other fear that are intimidating the lives of people on earth, including believers.

We discussed that this is actually a form of a battle on the basis of beliefs that have been built up in our lives. To fight the giants, there is no other way but to use our mouths to speak louder!  In addition to learning from Joshua and Caleb who disregard their lives to stand up for their beliefs, we can also learn from David who defeated Goliath!

1 Samuel 17:26 (NET) “David asked the men who were standing near him, “What will be done for the man who strikes down this Philistine and frees Israel from this humiliation? For who is this uncircumcised Philistine, that he defies the armies of the living God?”

1 Samuel 17:36 (NASB) “Your servant has killed both the lion and the bear; and this uncircumcised Philistine will be like one of them, since he has taunted the armies of the living God.”

1 Samuel 17: 45-47 (NASB) “Then David said to the Philistine, “You come to me with a sword, a spear, and a javelin, but I come to you in the name of the LORD of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have taunted. This day the LORD will deliver you up into my hands, and I will strike you down and remove your head from you. And I will give the dead bodies of the army of the Philistines this day to the birds of the sky and the wild beasts of the earth, that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel, and that all this assembly may know that the LORD does not deliver by sword or by spear; for the battle is the LORD’S and He will give you into our hands.”

From the verses above there are 5 things we need to pay attention in order to win the battle on the basis of beliefs and declare that the God we worship exists, and He is still working:

1. Make sure that the people near us influenced by the voice of God!

Do not allow them to be influenced by opinions, imaginations, perceptions, and worldly basis of beliefs!  Speak louder to attract them to the same frequency, so that you can go together and refocus on seeing God’s ways to reach the divine destiny.

Why is it so important to influence the closest person?  Because it is often, if we just keep silent, they may shake our basis of belief in God, then we will be affected!  Thus we have to speak louder! Because we love God and His will more than anything else ! Focus on believing in God’s voice, don’t mix with other voices so that ultimately our lives will not be swayed or change because the information we hear is always changing!

2. Imagine victorious life every day.

David did not imagine himself as a victim of Goliath, but conquering Goliath.  That is what we must follow.  Imagine a victorious life!  Imagine the negative facts are already conquered!  Imagine we rise in might and conquer all negative facts!  Live the days of our lives without intimidated but radiating a victorious spirit.

3. Rely on God alone and grow in the knowledge of God.

Make sure there is a work of the Spirit and the Word every day that mold our minds and harmonizes the inclination of the heart so that we can see Him as He really is. We only depend on the natures of God that are revealed by the Spirit to us.  If we see Him, we will be like Him.  We will respond to Goliath as the Lord of hosts responded to Goliath.  Goliath is not a problem for God, it is just a barrier pillar on a journey that is easy to be torn down for us to be able to continue the spiritual journey in full power!

4. Be sober, everything is in God’s control.

No matter how great a battle we are facing, the end result is in God’s hands.  And remember, we are more than conquerors.  So our final result is a definite victory!

5. A warrior and hero of faith is a person who does not love their own lives, so there is no fear whatsoever.

The reason people still live in fear comes from self-love – they don’t want to lose their lives.  Consequently, his life is only for himself and to save himself.  Not for God and the fulfillment of His plan!  In short, fear of death! Whereas the more people are afraid to die, the sooner they will die.

Revelation 12:11 (NKJV) “And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.”
