This is the final part of this week’s devotional series.
5. God will rebuild our convictions and align them to His word.
For certain people who have experienced ‘great damage’ in their identity, they often become a doubtful person who is unsure of himself. Observe Gideon when he asked for signs from God; it’s not because he doubted God, but because Gideon doubted himself.
Judges 6:36 (NASB) Then Gideon said to God, “If You will deliver Israel THROUGH ME, as You have spoken
Through the sign he asked from the Lord, Gideon actually wanted to convince himself that he is truly the one who received the mandate to lead Israel and drive away the Midianites (Judges 6:36-40).
From God’s side, He responded Gideon’s request by giving the sign, because He will use Gideon through extraordinary ways. In every warfare, the number of troops usually becomes the deciding factor for victory. However, when Gideon blown the trumpet and amassed 32,000 troops, God had to reduce their number to 300 (Judges 7:2-7). Then, before God ordered Gideon to start attacking the enemy, God Himself commanded Gideon to receive a confirmation from the mouth of his enemies (Gideon 7:9-15).
We truly need a strong conviction to be built in our hearts. For this is the aspect which determines how far we will reach our victory.
Judges 7:15 (NASB) When Gideon heard the account of the dream and its interpretation, he bowed in worship. He returned to the camp of Israel and said, “Arise, for the Lord has given the camp of Midian into your hands.”
Firstly, we need this strong conviction to be built in our hearts; that God will truly bring the church to manifest a life full of glory, divinity, accuracy and to become victorious in all things. Without being convinced about this heavenly agenda, we will never take the steps towards realizing it.
Now, through my life, God is carrying Breakthrough City Church (BCC) and the extended Steven and Sons (SnS) family to break through all forms of humanity, flesh, and worldliness that has clung in the everyday life of His church. However, before that, I must firstly experience how God builds that strong conviction in my heart. Because this is the strong conviction that conditioned myself to become ‘unyielding’ to the fact that the majority of God’s church have been built to be so human and natural.
However, right now in His grace, as a servant of the Lord, I could loudly declare that there is a massive spiritual movement over His church. The church will reform and give birth to the movement of the righteous. And through these righteous men, cities and nations will be transformed!
Get ready, God is reforming His Church to Revive the Saints and use them to Rebuild cities & nations! #iLoveGod
