This is the only reason we can stay rejoicing and thankful in all circumstances: because God is with us in our good fight of faith! Only then can we testify that God is real and He is still working!

Timothy 6:12 (NASBFight the good fight of faith; take hold of the eternal life to which you were called, and you made the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.

In our good fight of faith, our true focus is not in ‘changing the negative facts’, but living a life that is pleasing before God’s heart. Whether the negative facts change or not is not our business; it is God’s. The most important thing is to make sure our heart keeps loving Him, steadfast in doing what’s right and holding onto God’s word and promises!

So, don’t let unceasing negative facts make our life human or worldly (walking in the ways of the world, looking for other alternatives).

The heroes of faith in the Bible have given the right example on how we should fight the good fight of faith. The Spirit testifies that they have lived pleasingly before God’s heart. It means, they keep holding onto God’s promises, although the negative facts don’t change!

That’s what Enoch went through. He kept prophesying against the negative facts surrounding him (Jam 1:14-16), but the world got more and more wicked instead. However, Enoch’s tightly-held conviction on God’s word and promise made him more and more divine and united with God. That’s the most important!

The same goes for Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. They don’t want to worship the statue built by Nebuchadnezzar. That’s the first and foremost; pleasing God’s heart! The fiery furnace is the consequences of their disobedience to the Babylon system; but for them, it’s not a problem! They didn’t avoid the negative fact, and they didn’t pray for the fire to cease! Instead, the fire was heated 7 times hotter than usual (the negative facts become worse)!

On such condition, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego didn’t change/edit/remove their conviction. They still refuse to worship the statue! As the result, they were thrown into the fiery furnace. However, that’s the place and time they experienced God’s reality and presence becoming so tangible grasping their lives. That’s the most important!

Oftentimes, we assume wrongly what’s the ‘first and foremost’. We think that the change of negative facts is the most important, but it’s not the full picture of the truth. Because truly, negative facts ‘could change without God’. Many people out there could ‘change their faith’ by their own strength (without God’s word and reality). And they could become successful people – it’s undeniable!

Therefore, a clear difference is needed between the righteous and the wicked. And nothing else could differentiate us and them but God’s word and reality in our lives! If God is with us, that’s enough for us to finish our good fight of faith!

From this meditation, I realize more and more that God is molding us to be totally different from this world (Rom 12:1-2). He wants us to live by believing His word alone (Rom 12:3), and to love the reality of His presence more than anything else.

Exodus 33:15-16 (NASB) Then he said to Him, “If Your presence does not go with us, do not lead us up from here. For how then can it be known that I have found favor in Your sight, I and Your people? Is it not by Your going with us, so that we, I and Your people, may be distinguished from all the other people who are upon the face of the earth?”

The essence of the good fight of faith is not about the change in negative facts, but the existence of God’s word and the reality of His presence in our lives. If God is real in our lives, there is not a single negative fact which could destroy us or take us down. We are safe under the shadow of the Most High!

Isaiah 43:1-2 (NASB)

But now, thus says the Lord, your Creator, O Jacob,

And He who formed you, O Israel,

“Do not fear, for I have redeemed you;

I have called you by name; you are Mine!

“When you pass through the waters, I will be with you;

And through the rivers, they will not overflow you.

When you walk through the fire, you will not be scorched,

Nor will the flame burn you.

Once again, the only reason we can stay rejoicing and thankful in all circumstances is because God is with us in our good fight of faith! Only then can we testify that God is real and He is still working!

People will see us as a DIFFERENT person! Not because the negative facts change, but because God’s word and reality is real upon our life! Amen! #ILoveGod
