James 4:5 (VMD) Do you think the Scriptures mean nothing? The Scriptures say, “The Spirit God made to live in us [JEALOUSLY] WANTS US ONLY FOR HIMSELF.”

This is the reason God conditions us to always experience the work of His word & Spirit: He wants to dismantle the ‘mold of this world’ from our lives, and exchange it with the mold of His word, so our HEART ATTITUDE, CONVICTION & LIFESTYLE could keep expressing His divinity!

HEART ATTITUDE can be explained as thoughts, voices, and feelings coming out from our heart in the form of response or reaction when facing certain situation or condition. If our heart attitude is divine, our response will surely be divine. If our heart attitude is human, our reaction will surely be human.

Suddenly, I understand that for so long, we have the wrong ‘expectation’ in facing conditions, situations, and circumstances that are contrary to God’s promises. We pray and declare for ‘external things’ to change. But oftentimes, the external facts become worse. Finally, we become disappointed, and keep questioning God why this and why that. Truthfully, what must change is not the external, but the internal: our heart attitude in living our everyday life!

This is the key which will enable us to live in God’s world even in the midst of negative facts just like Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. They are in the furnace, but not burnt; they could breath normally, and they could walk on fire without being hurt at all! This could happen not because God extinguished the fire, but because they are in God’s world! They are not influenced at all by the external factors!

The same goes for us. Although we are facing all kinds of negative facts, we could experience negative facts not influencing us at all! That’s what God wants!

God wants us to have these 3 heart attitudes:

This is not “believing that negative facts will change,” but believing that God is the same, yesterday, today, and forever. He is still our Father who faithfully guards, guides, and provides for our life through His miraculous ways. Even when we are unfaithful, He is still faithful. Moreover if we walk in His will – our lives are surely safe in His hands!

So, we don’t need to fear or worry in facing negative facts. God will once again reveal His miracle. He is able to provide for us the way He provided for Elijah. God could command the crows to feed Elijah at the banks of Cherith. He could even guard us the way He guarded Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego in the furnace; we won’t get burned at all!

So, our main issue when facing negative facts is not the “change in negative facts,” but whether we believe that God never changes, yesterday, today, and forevermore! When we believe Him as our faithful Father, we will experience His miraculous provision and care!

This message will be continued tomorrow.
