Romans 6:11 (NKJV) Likewise you also, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
This verse speaks again in my heart that it has to be practiced in our daily lives:
1. When we love God with all our heart, soul and strength, that’s the moment we have ‘died’ from our personal agenda
Everyday we no longer do our own will but God’s will that has been given through His word when we abide in Him! The word that comes to us everyday is the agenda and direction that God has given. We don’t need to be ‘confused’ in making a plan when we truly live only from His word. Because living in God’s plan is not as complicated as we think. As long as we have died from our own interest, than His word and the work of His Spirit will come to raise us to be the doer of the word everyday.
2. God’s word is our new identity in Christ, the old one has died!
This is our time to see each word that is delivered as OUR TRUE IDENTITY. This will make us alive or active to refuse the identity that the world offers (Hebrews 11:24). Therefore we can focus on building according to what God speaks to us. Our strength and consistency in focusing on this word or identity will make us above average (defeat the world)
1 John 5:4-5 (NKJV) For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith. Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?
I’ve found, there are many believers are tempted with the identity that the world offers and the ‘work way’ of the world gives to reach success. As a result, it keeps going on the mixture between the world pattern and God’s pattern (our lives are broken, we lose our direction and true destiny). This makes many believers become victims of the world system!
But now it’s time for us to see and set our heart and mind to fix on His word only!
3. When we die from ourselves and live only for God, our lives will be more easily led by Him (not devious, just straight) and will manifest Christ in our daily lives
Galatians 2:20 (NKJV) I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.
I’m sure, if we focus on His word (identity in Christ) at least our lives will be impacts like Paul! I realize the power of FOCUS. It really helps us to remove all ‘distractions’ of the identity that world offers.
Hebrews 12:2 (NKJV) looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
If we want our lives to bring impacts as written on Hebrews 11 (people who lived in their identity in God), then Hebrews 12 must be our standard. FOCUS! Set our eyes on Christ and His word only, so that God can raise us to be the giants or faith heroes who conquer the world!!
His word will come everyday to guide us walking in His will only! Our part is to obey according to the measurement of our faith (never compare our lives with others, just focus on what God has spoken).
This will make a revival in the body of Christ! We will work together as a team (no more individual – dead from self – Romans 6:11) to fulfill His agenda according to our identity in God. #ILoveGod
