Ephesians 5:15-17 (NET) Therefore CONSIDER CAREFULLY HOW YOU LIVE – not as unwise but as wise, TAKING ADVANTAGE OF EVERY OPPORTUNITY, because the days are evil. For this reason di not be foolish, but BE WISE BY UNDERSTANDING WHAT THE LORD’S WILL IS.
The key word that we can use to spend our time wisely, is to identify the types of activities we do. There are many activities we do in daily life, and some of our activities are mandatory, our responsibility/duty.
For example, if you are a student, then your duty is to study and complete your assignments from school or campus. And usually the school has set a deadline for completing your assignment.
Likewise for the husbands, as head of the family, working for a living is a compulsory activity. A certain duration is often set for completing certain tasks, so it tends to become a daily routine for them.
In short, who we are in society has a very important role in determining the types of activity (work) we do. Like it or not, we must continue to do our work on regular basis. In order to make our work productive for now and in the future, we have to use and invest our time wisely. Learn to always have passion and creativity in doing it!
Without passion and creativity, we can easily bored with our work routines. People tend to get bored easily with routine activities. If we don’t deal with boredom right away, our work will never be maximal or effective.
Learn to give meaning, good or divine purpose in every activity we do, including our routine! Remind ourselves of the good or divine purpose we have set, as it will help us maintain the passion we need to carry out our routine activities.
This message will continue tomorrow.
