Crushing process is a life phase where the enemy schemes evil plans by exploiting inaccuracies in our life. However, God reversed the Devil’s schemes for the good of those who love Him (1 Corinthians 10:13, James 1:13-15, Romans 8:28-30). Through the crushing process, many life areas that are natural, worldly or carnal are aligned to God’s word and truth.
The length of crushing process between believers varies. Some goes through it quickly, but some seem to circle the phase over and over. What differentiates them is heart attitude. The ‘harder’ a person’s heart is, the longer the crushing process they have to go through. Because the person defends their life’s natural, worldly and carnal nature more than receiving the divine nature that God is offering.
In analogy, if something couldn’t be crushed with a hammer, a larger tool will be used. And if it turns out that using large tools like a sledgehammer is not enough, a dynamite will be used to blow it up!
That’s why certain people experience terrible incidents over and over, and it seems that the incidents keep getting worse. This is often caused by the person hardening their heart, not wanting to repent and build their daily life accurately.
Usually, when someone ‘turns to God’ and choose to align their life to the truth – becoming the person Father intended them to be – at once, all the pressure, trial and problem they face are lifted. They are ready to enter a new level of glory in God.
Here are several signs that a person has passed the phase of life crushing and reshaping:
1. Now their heart inclines towards the truth
The person has a different nature. Most people keep pursuing their personal pleasure, dreams, ambitions and obsessions which are external in nature. On the other hand, those who have gone through their crushing process will try everything they could to realize what is in God’s heart. They will go all-out to realize what the truth has revealed to them!
When it comes to doing the word, those who have the ‘good heart soil’ will always manifest a nature that is willing to die, to believe God even when it doesn’t make sense, and to let go of everything for Him. They no longer have any external, worldly or carnal considerations and thoughts. They have dedicated all their lives for the interest of the Kingdom of Heaven alone!
The time has come for every believer to carry a testimony of how they demonstrate their willingness to die, to believe God even when it doesn’t make sense, and to let go of everything for Him.
2. Their heart and mind gripped with the reality of God’s presence, their daily life surrounded by the peace that ‘surpasses all understanding’
Most people could only feel peace and joy when everything is alright in their everyday life. However, when something happens outside of their expectation, their emotion could erupt out of control.
Those who have gone through the divine process of crushing and reshaping could constantly feel peace, stillness and firmness in their heart regardless of the external situation and facts they are facing. Jesus could sleep soundly when the boat He rode were tossed around by the wind, while the disciples are panicking more and more (Matthew 8:23-27, Mark 4:35-41, Luke 8:22-25). We will enjoy such ‘peace that surpasses all understanding’ when we come to know that God is ever-faithful and He always arrange goodness for us!
Why worry about the future if we receive the guarantee that He will always be with us, fight for us, and that He ensures a brilliant and hopeful future for us!?
3. Increasing reality of supernatural things that becomes their hope in life
John 1:3-4 (NASB) All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being. In Him was life, and the life was the Light of men.
There is a ‘life sourced from God’s godliness’ starting to grow in their daily life. God’s Light constantly makes them optimistic, positive-thinking, hopeful and enthusiastic. Certainly, this is something most people don’t have because most people are living in the bondage of darkness and death.
For those who have gone through the crushing process, their quality relationship with God will enable them to always receive the word they need in all situations. This will become more and more real in their life. Because they always have the word, they will always experience God’s sovereignty working over their lives (Hebrews 11:3, 1 John 5:4, Mark 11:24). #iLoveGod
