This morning, I woke up with a strong realization and belief in something:
The era of ‘wilderness Christianity’ has ended! This means, the era for God’s people to enter, possess and reign in the Promised Land has come!
For so long, the life of God’s church keeps on circling in the wilderness. This is caused by many believers who keep living externally, worldly, and carnally. As a result, God has to keep them in the wilderness; crushing their flesh, training them to live only from His word (Deut 8:2-3).
It’s true that in the wilderness, the church enjoys constant blessing and miracles, just like what the Israelites experienced (Deut 8:1-4). But still, it still doesn’t change the fact that they are circling the wilderness.
It’s a shame that for so long, God’s people are content to merely enjoy His blessing to fulfill their daily needs. They feel satisfied although oftentimes, God’s reality is not accompanying their life! As long as blessings and miracles keep occurring, they don’t care whether God’s reality is present in their lives or not (Ex 33:1-3, 33:14-16).
Regardless of all, I keep seeing how Holy Spirit keeps moving over His chosen people. He crushes all inaccuracies in their life, reforming them until their heart inclines towards the truth alone. They become believers who are willing to die, who believe God even when it doesn’t make sense, and who let go of everything for God and the realization of His plans. A different generation of believers has been born!
When this different generation of believers is born – willing to die, to believe God even when it doesn’t make sense, and to let go of everything for God and His plans – the era to possess the Promised Land could start!
The Israelites kept on using their human logic and considerations before following Moses’ directions. However, in this new era of Christianity, the foundation of every believer’s decision is the revelation of the word and the direction of His Spirit (Deut 1:19-33, Jos 1:1-9, 1:16-18)!
I believe that this is what the new generation of God’s people will experience. God will reveal His word about their new identity Christ more frequently. They will realize their new destiny as God’s chosen people. They will receive various directions from the Spirit. God will lead them to become influential, renown and respected in the society.
However impossible or bizzare, believers must learn to obey God’s command without further consideration! That’s why we need a heart attitude that is willing to die, to believe God even when it doesn’t make sense, and to let go of everything for God and His plan.
The journey of Faith will only be taken by those who are crazy enough with God and His plan. Because such journey has no guarantee other than God’s word and promises! But for those who are willing to die, to believe God even when it doesn’t make sense, and who let go of everything for God, all they need is a single promise from God, and they will directly walk according to the instruction of the Spirit! For them, what God promised has already become very real (Heb 11:1-3, Yoh 1:1-3).
Under the leadership of Joshua, Israel crossed Jordan and subdued Jericho. The same will happen through our lives as a different generation of believers. We will start to subdue and possess! What we must do is only to keep listening to God’s voice and do it faithfully (Deut 28:1-14). #iLoveGod
