From day to day, I increasingly realize that our lives as believers must become a testimony. Becoming a testimony must not be ‘boxed’ in the frame of evangelism. Our testimonies must be visible in our everyday life; in our Christlike words and actions! This is where believers often ‘fail’; compared to this world, their behavior is pretty much the same.

One of the aspects which truly makes us look different is the aspect of EMOTION. This world will keep molding us to continuously express negative emotions and the ‘false joy’ sourced from external things. But the work of the word and Spirit will mold us to have a NATURE OF JOY (everlasting joy) in our everyday life.

True, building such divine nature in our hearts is not as easy as imagining it, but that doesn’t mean it’s impossible! We only need intensive cooperation with Holy Spirit, the source of joy.

To train the nature of joy in our life, we certainly need situations and conditions where it’s normally impossible for man to be joyful. Whether in the form of disaster, meeting our haters, or seeing negative facts becoming worse. In essence, it is in such condition that God wants to make us different! That’s the way we could become a concrete testimony that God is the source of our joy/strength!

True, it’s ‘kinda crazy’ if we face disasters and negative facts with joy. But if we don’t believe that it’s possible, then let it be done to us according to our faith. In turn, if we believe that it’s possible to be joyful in every situation, we’ll be able to experience it!

The problem is, do we want to ‘get out of this world’s pattern’? Or do we still want to hold unto it? If we hold onto the belief that it’s normal for man to be sad when disaster strikes, then our life will stay the same, or even worse!

So, what is the reason we could stay joyous in facing terrible conditions and situations? Believe that whatever happens will always work together for good to us who love God and are called according to His purpose!

Romans 8:28 (NASB) And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.

Now I realize that joy can never be separated with TRUST/BELIEF. Do we trust/believe in God who controls everything? Do we believe that God won’t allow anything to happen to us exceeding our strength? Do we believe that He is still a faithful God? And do believe that His plans will never fail in our lives?

Because when our TRUST is lost, that’s the moment when joy leaves. But when we STAY in our BELIEF, that’s the moment joy will manifest! #ILoveGod
