While fixing the aspect of word reading, Holy Spirit is also teaching me to specifically ‘revitalize’ my imagination. Holy Spirit opened several word understandings about the aspect of imagination which could become a foundation for us to rebuild our lives henceforth:

1. Imagination is the ‘connecting area’ between our inner man/spirit and the spiritual dimensions around our lives.

Observe our imagination; we could recognize the type of spirit dimensions around us through it. The various spirit dimensions and spiritual beings currently ‘around us and influencing us’ can be recognized by observing the ‘screen of our imagination’. Our inner man has its own sensitivity. It could ‘detect’ spiritual beings or spiritual dimensions currently trying to ‘interact with us’. They will appear in the ‘screen of our imagination’.

For example, if an evil spirit – let’s say the spirit of fornication – approaches us, our inner man could detect its approach. The spirit will pop up in our imagination, usually in the form of the act of fornication or other lust-igniting, erotic images. Actually, we could overcome this easily; we could drive them away in Jesus’ name, then we could invite the spirit of holiness to come while ‘forcing’ our mind to meditate on the word, and it’ll be over.

However, this could become a problem if the ‘seed of the enemy’ is already in us. The approaching spirit of fornication could ‘fertilize the enemy’s seed’ within us. We could see dirty imaginations barraging our mind, reviving the self which is supposedly crucified with Christ. When we don’t overcome the influence of the spirit, the enemy’s seed could bring out the desire of the flesh in our lives.

If we stay passive, our passiveness will allow the ‘desire of the flesh’ to transform into ‘our own desire’. This is the reason why someone could ‘lose their mind’, forgetting their identity as a son of God, and fall into temptation. Their life is once again governed by the desire of the flesh, and chained by the power of sin (Gal 5:19-21, Jam 1:14-15).

So, we should constantly guard and discipline our imagination by the word. Through it, we automatically guard ourselves from being tempted or dragged into sin or other life inaccuracies.

When we keep disciplining ourselves to imagine the word, without knowing, we are conditioning ourselves to interact with various spirit dimensions from heaven! And remember, all kinds of spirit dimensions – both the ones from the Devil and the ones coming from God – have the power of influence our lives! Spirits coming from the enemy will make us manifest our old self and the flesh. Meanwhile, spirits coming from the Lord will mold us more and more into the likeness of Christ!

2 Timothy 1:7 (NASB) For God has not given us a spirit of timidity, but of power and love and discipline.

Corinthians 2:12 (NASB) Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may know the things freely given to us by God.

This message will be continued tomorrow.
