The Holy Spirit emphasized to me that distractions, challenges, and problems (from others) will always be around us. Because the Bible had prophesied for us the conditions of the latter-day that happens nowadays (2 Timothy 3: 1-9, Matthew 24:37, Genesis 6). So don’t expect it would disappear from our lives, but we can hope it won’t affect us!
External factors are not in our control, but we can guard and control our hearts with all vigilance (Proverbs 4:23)
1. Set our minds that the source of our joy is only from the Holy Spirit, not from people, situations, and not from circumstances.
Thus, do not expect that those things can provide peace and joy because the source of true joy is only from The Holy Spirit.
2. To stay rejoicing in the midst of conditions and situations that are distracting ourselves, we really need to be re-trained.
That training process is an active action to rule out the patterns of the world, and at the same time, we are being molded by divine patterns. Because without realizing it, the world has made us people who react angrily when there are people who are angry, react disappointed when there are people who are not according to our expectations and react joyless when situation and conditions getting worse.
That is the world print we must dismantle. As the world has ‘trained’ continuously to make us react in the same way, so we must train ourselves continuously in a divine way. How to do?
Philippians 4: 4-5 (TB) “Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I say, rejoice! Let everyone see your gentleness. The Lord is near!”
Train ourselves to smile when there are people who are angry without reason to us, train ourselves to jump and cheer when situations and circumstances seem to get even worse, train ourselves to remain calm and make cheerful and hopeful vibe when we face people in despair. In principle, we should not be bored – bored to do good things. Start every kindness by rejoicing in all circumstances.
3. Interact with the Holy Spirit as a person within us.
Ask the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with joy and peace. This is an action that takes place in the spiritual realm which will affect the natural world. When our hearts are filled with peace and joy, automatically all forms of grief and negative emotions around us will disappear. It’s like the darkness that is gotten rid of because the light shines. In principle; depend on and cling to the Holy Spirit! Because He is the only source of our joy amid this dark and crooked generation.
I am optimistic, if we are willing to persevering train ourselves to rejoice, then the time will come when “dry and grieving souls” will come to experience an encounter with a living God through us (Revelation 21). #ILoveGod
