”Our lives as believers should not only be used by God but also be ‘God’s representatives’ on this earth.”
The sentence above keeps ringing in my mind. And I keep asking, who had become God’s representative on earth? Definitely Jesus. But there is another character that God reminds, namely Paul.
Galatians 2:20 (NKJV) “I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.”
When Paul lived, he is God’s representative. Paul is no longer alive, but Christ is in him. So Paul’s daily life represents Christ himself. The question is, how do you become a ‘representative of God’ on earth? It’s apparently not as difficult as we imagine. God does not want to ‘complicate’ us to be Christlike and be a representative of His divinity!
1. Live in the death to the flesh.
Realize that our old selves are dead and now we are new creations. In the past, we lived loving ourselves, loving money, and loving the world (selfish, full of human ambition). Now we are new creations that love God with all our heart, soul, and strength. This is a spiritual fact that happens when we accept Jesus as Lord and Savior. That fact will never change even if we don’t believe it. But for us to experience that, we must believe! Just believe! It’s not difficult, is it?
Believe that we are new creations that love Him with all our heart, soul and strength. That is our identity! Accordingly, we no longer need to go back to the old life. There is no connection in between. The old one is dead, and the new one is coming.
2. Live by faith.
This means that we live only by Word of God (faith comes by hearing the Word). Hearing and doing His word every day become the focus and the priority of our lives. Basically, there must be words that we hear and do every day, whether those come from the voice of conscience, reading of Words, impressions, sentences echoed by the Holy Spirit within, etc.
Make the Word as a standard in us to change the attitude of the heart, the base of beliefs and lifestyles. Keep persevering to meditate, speak His words, and imagine them until our spirits blaze! When we do this perseveringly, then we will be God’s representatives on earth to reveal His divinity and sovereignty!
I am more and more optimistic, to be God’s representative is not impossible, by the power of the Spirit and His Words, then we will be led to be what He wants us to be. The principle: Do our part perseveringly, then He will do His part perfectly! #ILoveGod
