Proverbs 20:12 (NKJV) “The hearing ear and the seeing eye, The LORD has made them both.”

‭‭

John 10:14 (NASB) “I am the good shepherd, and I know My own and My own know Me,”

From the two verses above, I am quite sure that it is normal for God’s people – especially the New Creation – to have a relationship with God, to hear His voice! Through the work of the Word and the Spirit in their lives, there will immediately be a ‘sense of spirituality’ they begin to have – it is a spiritual frequency that makes a person aware of spiritual or divine things, making it easier for him to recognize the voice of God. Just like a normal newborn baby, it is normal for the baby to communicate with the surroundings!

Likewise, when someone is born again;  he is born of the Holy Spirit into a ‘new environment’ – the reality of His presence, the environment of His kingdom! So it is normal for a New Creation to interact with heavenly beings – especially with the Father!

The reason why there are many believers keep complaining and found difficulties to hear the voice of God, are :

1. THEY DO NOT KNOW THE LORD AND HIS WORD.

When God first tries to communicate with Samuel, Samuel thought It is Eli the priest. Samuel does not know God yet (1 Samuel 3: 7). Even though Eli has lived in the flesh for a long time or live inaccuracies, but he became a high priest for a reason. Certainly, he has had a spiritual life that made him a high priest. Nevertheless, it’s possible the position or privilege he got has ruined his life. However, he must have had intimacy with God. So, through Eli’s directions, Samuel learns to know God and His Word (1 Samuel 3: 1-9).

2. THEIR THOUGHTS AND EMOTIONS ARE STILL BRINGING WORLDLY PATTERN.

Oftentimes God’s people have concepts or perspectives that originate from the patterns of this world so that makes them difficult to have a living and healthy fellowship with the Father. Their difficulty in hearing His voice is because all this time they are waiting for a spectacular spiritual experience, as that’s the pattern of understanding by this world. So when God speaks using the voice of conscience or uses thought in our mind, it is only considered as gone with the wind!

Whereas when God speaks and ‘only’ uses the voice of conscience to communicate with His people, that voice has the same weight as when He spoke using thunder and lightning.  Indeed the effects of psychological influence (for that person) must be different, but the weight of authority and the obedience needed are the same! He is a sovereign God. we can not regulate and determine as to if God wants His Words to be obeyed, then He must speak in a spectacular way, or else we will not obey.

Whether God gives His Word (in a very gentle and personal manner) using the voice of our conscience that has been renewed by the blood of Christ, or in spectacular ways, it all requires our absolute obedience!

3. THEY HAVE THOUGHTS AND EMOTIONS THAT ARE STILL DISTRACTED BY VARIOUS SITUATIONS OR EVENTS.

The Bible emphasizes: those who are pure in heart shall see God (Matthew 5: 8). As long as the eyes and ears of our hearts are distracted by various outward things, carnal, or even desires of the flesh, our ability to hear and communicate with God automatically becomes impaired! Especially if we keep things against others, resentment or disappointment with someone, consequently these are ‘barrier wall’ that prevents us from having a living and healthy relationship with the Father!

Matthew 6:12 (AMP) “And forgive us our debts, as we have forgiven our debtors [letting go of both the wrong and the resentment].”

‭‭

Accordingly, if we keep things against others, that causes the disruption of our relationship with the Father.  If we say: “Alright, I forgive his mistakes but I just don’t want to talk to him”. Without knowing, we cause God to applies the same to us: “I forgive your mistakes, but I just don’t want to talk to you first”.

This is one of many reasons why God’s people have difficulty hearing God’s voice. The eyes and ears of their hearts are still focused on the problem or resentment or grudges they feel. If only God’s people were determined to always forgive and forget the mistakes of people – I’m sure, the Holy Spirit will enable them and I believe that all God’s people would have a living and healthy dimension of relationship with the Father.

A word of the Word of God is enough to make sure our daily lives are always victorious. We enjoy ‘the best wine’ because we always obey every Word or God’s directives. #ILoveGod
