In this year, let’s focus on doing reformations in our life. Do everything we could to live accurately in these two aspects: finance and relationship with others.
1. Before God could use the church to influence and transform cities, church must’ve already defeated her dependency upon Mammon
Undeniably, wherever in this world where God’s church must ‘enter, govern, and restore’, Mammon will always be there in certain aspects. Without God’s church firstly subduing her dependency on Mammon, it would be impossible for the church to transform this world. And again, before God’s church could subdue Mammon, she must firstly equip all of her member to rise in the Spirit and subdue their dependency upon Mammon in their daily lives.
1 John 5:19 (NASB) We know that we are of God, and that the whole world lies in the power of the evil one.
It can almost be said that every aspect in this world are moved (and could only move) when reward (Mammon) is involved. The evil days and difficult times are part of the enemy’s strategy, designed to subdue the whole world under its control. Those who live in greed, loving money, wanting to get rich (quickly) are products of this world’s molding, which also serve as a ’mark’ of those who are ‘owned by the devil’. The enemy could easily ‘raise and lower’ them according to its will.
The enemy’s mark of ownership in a person’s life shows that the person has been ‘snared’ to live in the Babylon system; a system of living that depends on Mammon. The Bible classified such people as those who live in the deceitfulness of wealth (Mat 13:22). Automatically, any sowing of the word in their life won’t grow and bear fruit.
It is impossible for those who still carry the devil’s ‘mark of ownership’ to become willing to die for God, to believe Him even when it doesn’t make sense, and become willing to let go of everything for Him! They need God’s miracle to open their eyes to see that this world’s wealth and glory is nothing compared to the glory of the Kingdom that God has prepared for His believers.
Mend our heart until there is no more love of money, love of this world, or love of self. We must seriously fix every aspect that is related with money, wealth management, giving/sowing, and saving/investing.
Learn to subdue the dependency upon Mammon by building the life of faith. Learn to believe that the Father will always fulfill all our daily needs because we are walking in destiny (Mat 6:33). At the same time, obey every direction of the Spirit when He moves us to sow/give (2 Cor 9:6-11).
Decide to move from a life that clings to Mammon (signified by the conviction that one could do anything desired by their heart when they have money). Learn to live solely from God’s grace and mercy! This means that we must keep improving the quality of our personal communication and relationship with the Father. Remember, at the start of last year, I explained that Holy Spirit will bring us to have a more intense connection/communication with the Father (John 14:6, Heb 4:14-16).
Communicate everything that happens in your life to Him. Communicate with faith; declare your belief in what the Father will do in your life according to His promises to you or your spiritual father (1 Pet 5:7). Keep asking Him to give His word regarding the condition and circumstances you are facing (Deut 8:1-3, Mat 4:4). Once He gives His word concerning the your daily life’s condition – which is usually about our financial or daily needs – keep living in thanksgiving (1 Thes 5:18). From that point on, we will start to enjoy a life that is victorious in all aspects, day after day. We start to build the life of faith, and live a life that overcomes this world (1 John 5:4).
