This is the main characteristic of someone who loves God: their life ‘abides in God’. This is undeniable – that’s the expression of a heart that is inclined wholly towards Him! The reality of His presence becomes their everything – an utmost priority! For those who love Him, a life journey without God’s reality is something so terrifying and unwanted. Without His reality, we are nobody, and we couldn’t do anything!

Exodus 33:15 (NASB) Then he said to Him, “If Your presence does not go with us, do not lead us up from here.

John 15:5 (NASB) I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing.

Many people want to be a doer of the word, but often fail. Many believers want to live accurately, but never come to see its fulfillment. Some want to walk in God’s agenda, but keep missing the mark. Even believers’ life could become chaotic, worldly and natural regardless of all their good intention. How could this be? It’s caused by the AWARENESS OF GOD’S REALITY NOT BEING BUILT TANGIBLY IN THEIR LIVES! If they abide in God, they will automatically receive the flow of divine life which makes them alive and fruitful!

Then, what is the essence of having a life that loves Him (abiding in the Lord)? ALL OUR DECISIONS AND ACTIONS MUST BE DONE ACCORDING TO GOD’S VOICE, WORD PRINCIPLES, OR URGE FROM THE SPIRIT!

Without knowing, this world has molded us to make decisions based on external things (the situation and circumstances). For quite some time, the world has trained us to take the initiative in looking for solutions; we’ve been conditioned to rely on our own thoughts, strength, and also money. The result, however, is a life straying from His will. Usually this is the start of various problems in our finance, family, health, etc.

In essence, the concrete manifestation of a heart that loves the Lord is BECOMING A DOER OF THE WORD!

John 14:21 (NASB) He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and [f]manifest Myself to him.

That’s why we must be re-trained by the work of God’s word and Spirit. Have an unshakable determination to live by His word alone (Mat 4:4). Surrender all areas of our life, even the personal ones – usually those governed by ‘external desires, demands and conditions’, such as the area of life partner, timing to have children, and finances! Aren’t those the aspects where we often decide things without God’s word, voice or will?

WHEN WE ABIDE IN GOD, WE ARE CONDITIONED TO ALWAYS RECEIVE INSTRUCTIONS/DEMANDS FROM HIS SPIRIT. We are enabled to discern between God’s voice/word principles and the voice of this world, our own self, or the worldly spirits. For us who love Him, His voice and guidance will surely become clearer and clearer. We will never get confused because the inclination/frequency of our heart stays fixed on God alone! Therefore, we only have one voice in our heart – the voice of the Lord!

This is the way of life I must walk in! I want to make sure that all aspects of my life and decisions are based on His word alone. I believe that such heart attitude will bring me to walk in God’s ways!

Isaiah 26:7 (TLB) But for good men the path is not uphill and rough! God does not give them a rough and treacherous path, but smooths the road before them.

Proverbs 4:18 (NASB) But the path of the righteous is like the light of dawn, that shines brighter and brighter until the full day.

Isaiah 35:8-9 (NASB) A highway will be there, a roadway, and it will be called the Highway of Holiness. The unclean will not travel on it, but it will be for him who walks that way, and fools will not wander on it. No lion will be there, nor will any vicious beast go up on it; these will not be found there. But the redeemed will walk there.

I believe it’s time for us to be free from the enemy’s harassment! The time is now! Because we take the decision to live by His word alone! #iLoveGod
