This message is a continuation of the last two days message.
We are discussing the role of the Holy Spirit in bringing believers to grow in Him. Just as He raised child Jesus.
– The Spirit will grow us in wisdom so that we can see everything around from God’s own perspective.
The Holy Spirit will bring and grow us in Stature – the Spirit will lead us to experience various processes in order to make us have certain qualifications and be ‘most suitable’ to do something. It is like The Holy Spirit begin to anoint us to do something.
– The Holy Spirit will lead us to grow in favor before God and humans.
It is like the Holy Spirit raised Jesus to grow in favor – the Spirit also trained David to have the quality that deserves favor – and the Holy Spirit is doing the same thing in our lives! He wants to bring us grow in favor!
This favor factor made Esther accepted to appear before the king (Esther 5: 1-2) also made Nehemiah permitted by the king to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem and the king wrote a letter which made Nehemiah receive help from many governors (Nehemiah 2: 1-8).
I believe, God’s own hands will move many people to help and support us who intend to be effective for the interest of the kingdom of heaven!
If in the past we often found it so hard in doing the will of God, from now on learn to extend a measure of our faith and believe that God’s sovereignty will come upon our lives. And He will move certain people or parties to be kind and actively help us in completing the will of the Father – that’s favor!
I learned, David kept growing in favor because he did have a divine personality. Consider David’s background: actually he was rejected and abandoned by his father (Psalm 27:10, 51: 5). In fact, Jesse gave only two or three sheep to be shepherded by David just as a bait to invite wild animals kill him. Even when Samuel was about to anoint one of Jesse’s sons to become king, only David was not invited to be present at that important meeting. But David never held a grudge against his family or father who had abandoned him!
1 Samuel 16: 11-12 (AMP) “Then Samuel said to Jesse, “Are all your sons here?” Jesse replied, “There is still one left, the youngest; he is tending the sheep.” Samuel said to Jesse, “Send word and bring him; because we will not sit down until he comes here.” So Jesse sent word and brought him in. Now he had a ruddy complexion, with beautiful eyes and a handsome appearance. The LORD said, “Arise, anoint him; for this is he.”
Let us observe David’s stature when he first met Samuel:
(1) He is ruddy – which means reddish face because he is healthy and fresh. He is not sick, and
(2) His eyes are beautiful – showing his clean soul: there is no hatred, hurt, disappointment or other inner conflict. His face is good-looking, handsome, pleasing to the eye. I believe, all good-looking appearances, physically healthy are because of the soul, the healthy emotions!
When the Holy Spirit is continuing to enlarge and rebuild our lives in His presence so that we grow in favor – a supernatural work that moves people to do good and support us, we need to make sure we stay discipline ourselves to always cleanse and remove out various spiritual garbage that pollute and have chance to destroy our joy and peace!
Even if we have to deal with people who deliberately irritate our hearts and make our lives harder, inevitably drain energy, positive emotions and optimism in our minds, keep responding with the power of prayer!
I found, the power of prayer can change the turmoil of negative emotions turned into a thanksgiving and prayer of blessing that blesses those annoying people!
A clean and pure heart will automatically attract favor both from God and men! Pray perseveringly more in the spirit of prayer and make the energy in our hearts multiply! #ILoveGod
