I find that the principle of building divine logic is very important and fundamental for every believer. It is not an option, but a principle to be lived by all believers in their faith journey.
1. Having divine logic will condition us to live in faith
Without divine logic, many profit-loss considerations will hinder us from walking according to the word. This is caused by the various habits and mindset that have been molded by this world. We have been conditioned to follow the human and worldly ways rather than following the word. By having divine logic built in our mind, we will easily believe and be convinced by the word.
Matthew 8:5-7 (NASB) And when Jesus entered Capernaum, a centurion came to Him, imploring Him, and saying, “Lord, my servant is lying paralyzed at home, fearfully tormented.” Jesus said to him, “I will come and heal him.”
The word has been released over the centurion. Observe his response closely:
(8) But the centurion said, “Lord, I am not worthy for You to come under my roof, but just say the word, and my servant will be healed.
(9) For I also am a man under authority, with soldiers under me; and I say to this one, ‘Go!’ and he goes, and to another, ‘Come!’ and he comes, and to my slave, ‘Do this!’ and he does it.”
Evidently, a divine logic has been built in the centurion’s life: if a leader/authority gives a command, their subordinate must respond according to it. This logic helped him to believe that whatever Word he receives from Jesus will heal his servant. And it truly happened: the word is released, and miracle took place!
Matthew 8:13 (NASB) And Jesus said to the centurion, “Go; it shall be done for you as you have believed.” And the servant was healed that very moment.
2. Having divine logic conditions us to become doers of His word
I realize more and more that the service we do each week must not be taken as a mere Christian routine. We must transform our thinking concept of attending services only to receive blessings or to be delivered from problems and struggles.
In a true Christian service and meetings, there are various dynamic works of the word and Spirit that renew our mind!
That’s why the word being released by our leader must not be taken as a mere preaching (heard and forgotten just like that) – or even as a good sermon that blesses us! God’s word delivered by our leader must be taken as a command and instruction to be done. And we must persevere in doing it!
James 1:22 (NLV) Obey the Word of God. If you hear only and do not act, you are only fooling yourself.
Truly, the word delivered by a leader/spiritual father is the word received from the mouth of God (Mat 4:4). It is aimed to dismantle our old logic (wrong mindset & heart attitude) and change it with a new logic that is in line with His word!
When our old logic has been successfully dismantled, believe me, it’s not hard to become doers of the word. Because the major barrier from becoming doers of His word is our old logic. It tends to contradict the word and question what the leader says. And if we let it, we could reject God’s word without knowing!
2 Corinthians 10:5 (NASB) We are destroying SPECULATIONS and every LOFTY THING raised up against the knowledge of God, and we are TAKING every thought CAPTIVE to the obedience of Christ
The word “speculations” is from the Greek “Logismos”, which means calculative, calculating, weighing – taken from the root word “logizomai”. “Even so consider [logizomai] yourselves to be dead to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus” (Romans 6:11). Additionally, the NKJV translation wrote “speculation” as “imagination”.
Now I understand that to become doers of the word, we will always face thoughts of profit and loss. It will surely govern our imagination. If we let this speculation (old logic) to run wild, it will grow into a fortress (from the Greek word “hupsoma” (“high thing” in NKJV), which means a tall structure or barrier).
Apostle Paul says that these thoughts must be taken captive and subdued (“hupakoe”, brought into obedience and submission).
Pay attention to this principle: our old logic always tend to contradict and not submit/obey the word. Because that’s its NATURE!
As a result, those who still carry their old logic will surely find it difficult (or even impossible) to become doers of the word!
That’s why we need to be renewed in our mind (Romans 12:1-3). This dismantling of our old logic must be done in perseverance by looking intently at the perfect law (James 1:25).
So, THERE IS NO OTHER WAY to be renewed in our mind and inherit the mind of Christ – only through DEVOTING OURSELVES IN THE APOSTLES’ TEACHING!
When we do so, our mind will be taken captive and made obedient to follow the principles of God’s word. Our thoughts are subdued to the law of the Spirit of life! From then on, we will enjoy the effect of liberty – we are delivered from all kinds of bondage! We become sons of God! Our everyday life is positioned to be victorious!
Let it be done in Jesus name! #iLoveGod
