Romans 6:11 (NKJV) Likewise you also, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

The more I meditated on this verse, I found some form of applications of this verse for our daily lives:

1. We used to be an individualistic person, but what’s in the past has died!

We are now New Creations, who lives to unite ourselves in the corporate agenda of the local church, think corporately and act corporately. Every time we heard the word about to be influential, renown and respected in the society, we always connect it to the personal success. But now as new creations, we know and start to connect it as one body/corporate/spiritual family that is promoted by God to be influential, renown and respected institution in the society.

The verse above teaches us that when we have united into His death, the first thing that should die from us is ‘our self/ego/‘I’/individualistic life. So, the applicable form of this verse is: leaving the individualistic life, then enter corporate life! And never ever go back to the individualistic life, for we have died from it! But now we are living for corporate/ the church of God/ body of Christ.

2. We used to be people who use all of our time just to make money.

After having a money, we are pursuing harder to get more money. We are willing to leave Sunday Service in order to increase the number of sacks of our money. But it was in the past. Now as new creations, we use our time only to seek the face of God and build our fellowship with The Word!

We are willing to do it until midnight, even until dawn, only to push deeper to get into His presence and experience Him. If we were never feel exhausted to pursue money, now, at minimum, we would do the same thing in seeking God. It should even be more passionate than before.

3. We used to do many useless things, we were addicted with the things that make us far from having a living fellowship with God.

For example, addicted to games, spending a lot of times only to browse the social media, or watch the television and many more. After we are born again, we should be addicted to the Word of God. We are willing to dig the truth of the Word for hours, even time will fly so quickly without we realize it.

For we had so many times to do useless things, after becoming new creations we also have times to read, meditate, declare and write down every word that God gives for us.

I believe, the more we use the verse of Romans 6:11 to build our logic and influence ourselves, then we would represent the person who are dead from the love of self, money, and this world. But at the same time, we represent the people who loves God, His truth, and His will !! Thus, our daily lives are known as people whose willing to die, to believe God even when it doesn’t make sense, and willing to let go of everything for Him and fulfillment of His plan!! #ILoveGod
