This message continues from the previous day’s message.
2. The true battlefield is within our mind
God desires to totally remake our mindset so it can be aligned to the truth (Romans 12: 1-2).
As a new creation, we experience the urge of the Holy Spirit to live by His word. The problem is, oftentimes our mind is not completely renewed yet. There is still a TUG OF WAR between the old heart inclination which always directs us towards the old life and the new heart which is inclined to the truth. This is where the battle takes place. When we are influenced stronger by the old life, we will feel oppressed (difficult to feel freedom). We will easily feel lukewarm, under pressure, feeling ‘down’ (hopeless), difficult to enter God’s presence, etc.
However, when we fix our mind on things that are fun, then we will start to feel calm and ‘lifted’. “Think happy thoughts and fly.”
So, beware of the various kinds of thoughts that are crossing our mind. If we allow certain negative thoughts to work, then that is the kind of thought which will cross our mind more often – because we’re actually the one who allows it! No wonder that the thought could give birth to all kinds of negative actions in the end.
Realize that our mind is a TERRITORY which we must guard and defend! So, although facts and data ‘seem’ to be louder, we must learn to choose to think about the truth of God’s word! Through it, we will learn to SUBDUE OUR MIND to the TRUTH. To do so, we need determination and consistency (read: PERSEVERANCE) to make ourselves used to live in the grasp of the atmosphere of victory.
There is no other choice, train ourselves to declare the word while imagining it until we could feel the atmosphere of victory burning and surrounding our life. Quickly take action whenever negative thoughts are coming. Don’t let them linger for long in our mind.
3. When we learn to discipline our mind to dwell on whatever is true, honorable, right, pure, lovely, of good repute, etc, like what is written in Philippians 4:8, we are conditioning our mind to always stay peaceful, joyful, and victorious!
Now I understand more and more why apostle Paul gave us a specific instruction to think the right way.
Philippians 4:8 (NASB) Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things.
Such mind will enable us to feel victory. Day by day, we will be taken up higher and higher in His presence. As a result, we will experience the peace of God, which SURPASSES ALL UNDERSTANDING, will GUARD your HEARTS and MINDS through Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7)! Truly, this will give vitality to our soul and spirit. Even our physical body will reap its benefits, because stress and inner conflict depart from our lives!
Prayers that we lift in the right way (not empty or religious prayer) will stimulate our mind; aligning our mind’s frequency to the truth (Phil 4:6). On the other hand, if the frequency of the worldly spirits works in our mind and heart, the result is CHAOTIC FREQUENCY. No wonder, our life declines, we feel heavy-laden, pessimistic, anxious, fearful, self-pity, we find it hard to focus and also to feel God’s presence. Or else, we are governed by anger, vengeance, lust, emotional, ambitious, greedy, etc.
Psalms 94:19 (ERV) I was very worried and upset, but you comforted me and made me happy!
Psalm 94:19 (TLB) Lord, when doubts fill my mind, when my heart is in turmoil, quiet me and give me renewed hope and cheer.
Compare if the FREQUENCY OF THE TRUTH OF GOD’S WORD works in our mind. The result is our mind and heart becoming healthier and stronger! God’s peace, joy (happiness and excitement), love and faithfulness envelopes us again. Optimism will come, pessimism will stay away. The SPIRIT OF FAITH will activate easily and work in our hearts. Our live becomes pleasing before God (because we believe/have faith in Him). Hope will grow stronger, and supernatural things will happen more often!
Ephesians 3:20 (NKJV) Now to Him who is able to do EXCEEDINGLY ABUNDANTLY above all that we ASK [PRAY] or THINK, according to the POWER that works in us
The right mind will make the dimension of power works in our life. Therefore, build our inner man by praying fervently, declaring the word, and meditating the word – we must build this as an everyday lifestyle. Put it into practice, and experience a victorious living every day. Amen! #ILoveGod
