This message is a continuation of yesterday’s message.
We’re talking about the reasons why people who were invited to a party refuse to attend the invitation.
1. The inclination of their hearts that is still focused on themselves, chasing money, personal success and the various offers of this world.
2. There is still an inaccurate knowledge of God.
For a long time, there have been many believers who had an inaccurate knowledge of God and and understanding of the Word. For example, there are many who think that as believers, we have a heavenly Father who is very good and always understands the condition of our lives, so that we can freely choose or make decisions based on the will of our own heart, not of the Father’s – especially the various important decisions in our lives.
Romans 6:16-19 (NKJV) Do you not know that to whom you present yourselves slaves to obey, you are that one’s slaves whom you obey, whether of sin leading to death, or of obedience leading to righteousness? But God be thanked that though you were slaves of sin, yet you obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine to which you were delivered. And having been set free from sin, you became slaves of righteousness. I speak in human terms because of the weakness of your flesh. For just as you presented your members as slaves of uncleanness, and of lawlessness leading to more lawlessness, so now present your members as slaves of righteousness for holiness.
Knowing God and an accurate understanding of the Word should give us an understanding that we were slaves to sin, but because of the sacrifice of Christ who has redeemed our lives, it automatically moves or positions our lives which are now slaves of righteousness. On the one hand, it is true that our lives become free (from the bondage of sin), but that does not mean that we are free to follow our own will.
Right understanding makes us understand that after we are freed from sin, we are still slaves. The difference is, now we are slaves of the righteousness who lead our lives to walk in the paths of truth – to walk in obedience. When our lives follow God’s commands and guidance, then the reality of heaven will always fulfill and accompany our lives – making our lives so distinguished and privileged by heavenly Father.
This is the time for us to set our hearts on God’s will and His plan. We always answer “YES” to every calling and command. We live to fulfill the spiritual house agenda that God has set. Because the moment of the outpouring of the Spirit upon all flesh is a grand feast that we as believers should not miss.
God has ordained for us, His church, to be partners that He will use in realizing the agenda of the kingdom of heaven, which is to be the organizers and main actors of the grand feast of the outpouring of the Spirit on all flesh! Hallelujah, amen!!
