Once, I pondered: until today, why many church members are still living in chains and under pressure/intimidation? Why is their life far from victorious? Why are they far from the Father’s breakthrough, blessing, and grace?

Then, God showed me the answer from 1 Corinthians 3:10-13:

According to the grace of God which was given to me, like a wise master builder I laid a foundation, and another is building on it. But each man must be careful how he builds on it. For no man can lay a foundation other than the one which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. Now if any man builds on the foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw, each man’s work will become evident; for the day will show it because it is to be revealed with fire, and the fire itself will test the quality of each man’s work. (NASB)

For so long, the people haven’t been built accurately on the true foundation; the sacrifice of Christ. The leaders don’t teach the people to live as New Creations! Unsurprisingly, many church members lost their identity and stature as sons of God/New Creations!

1. Until today, the people keep living in worldliness

Truthfully, God’s people have experienced new birth and became New Creations. However, if they live a careless life, they’ll always be vulnerable to the enemy’s sowing. As a result, their life contains mixture. On one side, they long to serve God, but on the other side, they still love this world. In the end, they could never become all-out in loving God and doing His plans (not willing to die, no willing to let everything go, and not willing to believe God when things don’t make sense).

2. Until today, the people keep living as spiritual infants, far from maturity in Christ

One sign of maturity is the willingness/understanding to take responsibility of our own lives. God’s people will never grow into maturity as long as they pursue their own personal interests, desires, ambitions, and success. They won’t grow as long as they refuse to merge in a spiritual house that is connected to heaven. They won’t grow as long as they don’t take responsibility in their spiritual house.

Therefore, we need the understanding, determination, willingness, & openness to merge in a spiritual house. For it will bring us to become part of the corporate life; we become God’s chosen people!

3. Until today, the people keep harboring grudge against one another

The reason why church members could harbor grudge is their self which is not ‘dead yet’. Living as New Creations demand the death of flesh at all times. In other words, we need to live in the Spirit! And living in the Spirit means we fix our mind to God and His word. Therefore, we have no time/opportunity to think about the wrong and injustice of others!

When the people harbor grudge in their heart, they lose the power of prayer! They lose their power to bind & loosen! As a result, the people become conditioned to rely on their own strength, and not depending on God!

4. The people become trapped to idolize servants of God

Idolizing always starts this way: God uses His servant extraordinarily to bless and transform lives. Then, the people start to ‘favor’ the servant of God, but they do so in their immaturity. So, the people fail to see the existence of God who are using His servant, and as the One who gives them growth! This happens because the people haven’t grown maturely in Christ.

What happens next is this. Slowly but surely, the people will get closer to the servant of God. And regardless of how great God has used His servant, they still have weaknesses and lack (not sin, though). When the people found out that the servant of God they idolize is not perfect, two things can happen. They could become disappointed and turn away. Or else, they could turn a blind eye  keep ‘licking the boots’ of the servant of God, so they could keep receiving personal gains from the ‘closeness’ they have.

If leaders teach the people to live as New Creations, their life will be built accurately as God’s temple. Then, I believe that the people will start to live in the reality of God’s kingdom. They will enjoy the breakthroughs that God has prepared for them!

So, God’s people, make sure that you start to live your everyday life as New Creations! #iLoveGod
