In this end times, there is something ‘missing’ in the believer’s life. Although we are claiming as believers, but subconsciously we often use our mouth to nag, grumble, and blame others or the situation when we see something that is not right or not in accordance with the desires of our hearts. Whether it’s trivial thing or serious things.
As a result, various inner conflicts keep ruining our heart. We become easily anxious, depressed when facing bad situations, problems and challenges. Unconsciously, we are formed as a ‘fragile’ person. I found that we need to train ourselves to always be thankful and give thanks in all things, because that is God’s desire. (1 Ths. 5:18)
1. Our thanksgiving has a power to protect us from pressure, temptation and challenges in this life.
Col 3:17 (NKJV) And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.
The Enemy always tries to push us with problems and challenges, the Enemy tries to set us under pressure. Through the pressure that Enemy gave, he tried to put us in the ‘deteriorating program’ that he has planned for us. But by the power of thanksgiving, God has set us free from that evil’s plan, and also make us stay connected with the divinity of God.
Thanksgiving helps our emotion to not easily provoked by the situations and conditions, our heart and mind remains in control, so that we can STAY FOCUS and think clearly. Our response will always be positive.
When our response are always positive in the middle of our problems and challenges, then SOLUTION will surely come as a way to resolve any pressure and problems that we are facing.
2. Giving thanks will help our spiritual life to remain stable, focus on what God provides through the Word and work of His Spirit (Heb 12:28)
Col 3:16 (NKJV) Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
Various negative emotions such as irritation, anger, anxiety, frustration, and others is like trying to make the fullness level of the spirit’s water in our hearts leaks and drained easily. When we experience a spiritual leak, then all the riches of potential, impartation, and anointing that God has given for us will disappear. So that we become ‘error’ and cannot function optimally in His Kingdom. Through the power of thanksgiving we have power to recover the leaking area and also to build the conducive atmosphere so that our spiritual life will reburn and grow strongly in our life.
On the other hand, when we are not easily distracted by the negative conditions and facts, our hope will be firm in holding God’s promises contained in His Word. Our faith will not easily be shaken, for we stand still on His Word. The power of thanksgiving guards us to keep on believing that if we are yet to be happy, it means that it is not the end yet. He is not finished yet with His masterpiece in our life! We will see that God is real and He is still working!
3. Thanksgiving makes us always think positively about other people / fellow brothers and sisters in the body of Christ.
Col 3:15 (NKJV) And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful.
In daily life or in the spiritual house, we always interact with people. There are various spiritual levels, dynamics and abilities. The more we are closer to someone, there will always be potential for friction. But I believe, through our thanksgiving, it will make us become an ‘anti-scratch’ person because we have the peace that ruling and guarding ourselves from the spirit of judgment or negative thinking when our brothers make mistakes. We also become a person who easily forgives others.
Someone’s negative words and actions could hurt us, but in a short time, we can overcome and our wound will quickly recover. We won’t stay in hurting condition any longer. If peace keeps on pouring and staying, automatically the Body of Christ will be healthier and stronger because we can overcome every friction or potential conflict well. #iLoveGod
