For so long, Christianity has been ‘decorated’ with famous spiritual leaders and superstars who accomplish many ‘great feats. Many Christians are in awe, seeing their leaders keep being promoted, meeting important figures, and doing ‘extraordinary’ works. And everyone praises them as successful servants of God!
However, when I study further, I found something wrong with this ‘phenomenon’ in the world of Christianity. Because when spiritual leaders capture God’s pattern/blueprint, and function accurately according to it, they will start to equip God’s people. Those who are supposed to become influential, renown, and respected are church members!
We have to respond accurately to what is happening around us these days. We must not be tossed around by the various currents of inaccurate teachings. They will blind us from seeing the Kingdom of Heaven in these end times. Meanwhile, the Kingdom is building the body of Christ – a ministry where all God’s people rise in Spirit power. In the body of Christ, the congregation inherits the same spirit, destiny, and agenda from a spiritual father. That’s how it should be!
So, it isn’t right for spiritual leaders to stand out on their own. Everyone in the congregation must produce a strong impact as one body of Christ. In the body, all members function to finish God’s agenda (which He entrusted to the spiritual leader).
This truth is difficult to accept indeed. Because for so long, Christianity has been ‘stuck’ with individual movements (where one people stands out while the rest merely follows). But whether we like it or not, those days will soon be over. Because God is moving with leaders who are carrying His divine pattern! These leaders will focus in building and equipping the people to such an extent. The congregation will grow in the power of grace, and they will become influential, renown and respected. At the same time, everyone doesn’t move in their own ways. As one body of Christ, everyone lives in order as a spiritual family to finish God’s agenda.
Therefore, beware of teachings that keep us passive, focused on blessings, and glorifying individual success (and its pursuit)! Beware of the spiritual dimensions contained within those teachings!
Note the following verses:
Ephesians 4:10-16 (NASB) He who descended is Himself also He who ascended far above all the heavens, so that He might fill all things.) And He gave some as apostles, and some as prophets, and some as evangelists, and some as pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of service, to the building up of the body of Christ; until we all attain to the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a mature man, to the measure of the stature which belongs to the fullness of Christ. As a result, we are no longer to be children, tossed here and there by waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, by craftiness in deceitful scheming; but speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in all aspects into Him who is the head, even Christ, from whom the whole body, being fitted and held together by what every joint supplies, according to the proper working of each individual part, causes the growth of the body for the building up of itself in love.
This is what I believe. Even the greatest spiritual leaders’ impact (when they keep ‘performing’ alone) will never compare to what the body of Christ could do (the collaboration between spiritual fathers, sons, and church members). And I believe that the era of individualistic/superstar leadership has ended! Today, God is raising congregations who are being equipped to such an extent by their spiritual leaders. God’s church will rise in Spirit power, united as one in the body of Christ. The church will reveal the might of the Kingdom in every domain!
If God has brought in the leaders who carry His divine pattern, the era of leadership that still carries this world’s pattern must end. And truly, it has ended!
If God has raised churches who walk in one spirit, one destiny, and one agenda, the era of individualistic churches must end. And truly, it has ended!
For when God’s light is present in His end-time church, every darkness will surely be removed! #iLoveGod
