Matthew 9:15 (NKJV) And Jesus said to them, “Can the friends of the bridegroom mourn as long as the bridegroom is with them? But the days will come when the bridegroom will be taken away from them, and then they will fast.”
When we experience lost awareness of the reality of God, or our fellowship with God becomes bland so that we no longer have God’s touch, then we must take action. Jesus said that at that time we must fast.
Fasting is an act to direct our hearts to re-FOCUS only on the Word and the reality of His presence, and at the same time, there is a ‘cleansing’ from all defilement of the spirits of the world (Isaiah 58:6). So it isn’t just not eating and drinking, but to make ‘death of the flesh’ our lifestyle that makes us experience an ever-increasing measure of the glory of His reality.
Principally, He wants us to always be attached to Him. We must do whatever self-discipline we can do to always experience God’s touch. It can be disciplined in fasting, disciplined in reading the Bible and pray the Bible verses, worship Him once an hour, and other things that are the direction and urge of the Spirit that makes us more united with Him!
How important it is to always keep our hearts hungry and thirsty for God’s reality, because of it we will sincerely push and pursue God in such a way. This is what will make us ‘experience God’s touch personally’. Not only when we’re praying, but even when we’re on the move, God’s touch can be very real.
Our experiences with God personally, whether it’s the experience of the death of the flesh or the crushing of human nature by the process of forming of the work of the Spirit and the Word and the touch of His presence, are all described as ‘the wise virgins who bring ‘OIL’ in Matthew 25: 1-13.
Remember, the ’oil’ refers more to a process and a personal experience of one when the flesh in their life is crushed. As olive oil comes from crushed olives. ‘Oil’ is written in Greek word, Elaion, which is often translated: Olive Oil – oil to fill or lit a lamp, oil to rub on the sick, oil to anoint one’s head and body at feasts.
That is the real difference between the five prudent virgins and the five foolish virgins. The similarity is that they all ‘sleep’ while waiting for the groom. The point is they both experience unexpected and unpredictable conditions.
For example, the present pandemic, everyone experiences it. Who would have thought that the world’s economic situation would turn 180 degrees? From a good, even was being improved, suddenly because of the ‘virus’ instantly it just collapsed. Many people suffer affliction and are shaken.
In times like this, the ‘oil’ plays a significant role. Because for those who have ‘oil’, during this situation they will be distinguished by God. Even God raised them to have the moment of the wedding of the Lamb! Where the faithful vows between us and Him take place. What belongs to Him becomes ours. WE WILL ALWAYS RECEIVE AND HAVE THE WORD, EVERY TIME!!
John 1:1-5 (NKJV) In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.”
Isaiah 60:1-3 (NKJV) Arise, shine; For your light has come! And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you. For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, And deep darkness the people; But the Lord will arise over you, And His glory will be seen upon you. The Gentiles shall come to your light, And kings to the brightness of your rising.
For God is making us a to be a light amid the darkness. Many people will seek us. They will ask for directions, even without hesitation asking for an ENCOUNTER WITH GOD. Because they SEE AND RECOGNIZE there is God within us.
That is the only way of SALVATION AND LIFE. Not only SALVATION is for go to heaven after we die, but also on earth from all turbulence!! They need the Word and Life. We have all that in abundance ready to touch their lives (Revelation 21). #ILoveGod
