Ephesians 6:18 (NKJV) praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints—

Our lives as believers in this world are likened to warriors or heroes of faith. So, like it or not, we will go through various wars. But it’s not a war against flesh and blood, but against the rulers of the earth and the evil spirits that inspire humans to create a world system that ‘stings’ (kills) other human lives. Through various ways, the ‘river of death or the river of Babylon’ continues to flow, be it in the family, society, or national life.

Therefore, we need to be aware of our existence as men of war who are trained to fight. Do not let us still wear the mentality of ‘tourists’ who are boarding a cruise ship in the middle of this world. If so, our lives will be ‘surprised’ to hear the frenzy of war, and even despair and frustration when the enemy attacks. That is often the case with many Christians who are unprepared for the turmoil of this world and the onslaught of evil days, troubled times, and the fiery darts of the evil one.

This morning the Holy Spirit reminded me to always activate the ‘spiritual radar’ by self-disciplined praying in the Spirit. Prayers in tongues that we say will build our spiritual people and make our awareness of God always awake, as well as recognize and destroy existing ‘enemy attacks’.

The application of prayer in tongues at any time can be divided into 2 technical matters:

1. Take a special time to build your spiritual man.

Pray in the Spirit in such a way, receive an impression and speak of it. Recognize the various feelings that arise. If there is a feeling of depression, immediately overcome it with a prayer in tongues fervently until that feeling disappears and is replaced by cheers of joy.

Then if there is an empty feeling, immediately fill it with God’s Word or the last Word we received from God. Then use it as material for contemplation (imagine it) while praying in tongues fervently until our spirits are burning.

The point is to pray in tongues in such a way that awareness of God’s reality grows rapidly. Because it indicates that the Spirit is bringing us into a demon-free zone.

2. Pray in the Spirit when we are active, not always with our mouths, but also inwardly, but don’t always pray inwardly.

The point is that we don’t have to be weird people who are always muttering in front of other people. The principle is that when we pray in the Spirit and speak the Word while we are on the move, we are actually continuing to build the awareness of God, as well as destroying the enemy’s work that is caught by the radar of our spiritual man.

Thus, it will not only have an impact on us, but also for those around us who get a ‘wall of protection’ from the prayers we raise. Indirectly also our spiritual man capacity is being enlarged by the Holy Spirit to swallow death in victory!!

I believe that prayer in tongues has a deep meaning and function. In war we can describe it as a multipurpose war weapon to destroy whatever the enemy’s work that wants to get close to us!! So that we can enjoy a life free from the zone of evil, sin, and death. And always enjoy a life full of truth, peace, and joy! Amen!
