While meditating the word, I come to realize and understand more and more about this. Building our spirit/inner man is a fundamental principle. Every believer must have it, and they must practice it actively and consistently.
The reason is, God has set believers as sons of God. We are supposed to rise up and swallow death in victory; we are the ones who will realize the restoration of all things on this earth. God has set us to rule and reign over this earth, and that means we have a certain spiritual position to enter.
“For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.” (Eph 6:12, NASB)
That’s the reason apostle Paul emphasized that we must build our strength by uniting ourselves with God! In other words, “Be supernaturally infused with strength through your life-union with the Lord Jesus. Stand victorious with the force of his explosive power flowing in and through you.” (Eph 6:10, TPT)
I believe, to enter the spiritual position of ruling and reigning, we must merge our life with God, then make sure that His power and might flows through our life. And there is no other way to do this but to practice the principle of building our inner man! By building our spirit, Holy Spirit trains, molds, and raises us as mighty troops of God! When we consistently and actively follow every training step in building our inner man, we will have the spiritual strength to subdue the rulers of this dark world in victory! We will enter a spiritual position to rule and reign on earth!
I could see even clearer now that Prayer Group is a training ground God has made to prepare the sons of God. By training together in the Prayer Group, we will enter the spiritual position of ruling and reigning in the throne room; we will rule by speaking!
Build our inner man every day, attend the Prayer Group, build our personal relationship with God, and build the life of a worshipper. By doing so, Holy Spirit won’t only make us more and more sincere in loving the Lord, or grow in our knowledge and fellowship with Him; God will also train and grow the dimension of ‘speaking’ in our lives.
Holy Spirit will train us to rise in Spirit power, subduing every work of the enemy by the power of Word declaration! Just like the way Jesus moved on earth, we will move like Him! He casts out demons only by speaking (Mark 1:25,34, Mrk 5:8), and He subdued death in other people’s lives only by uttering the word (John 11:43-44, Luke 7:14, Mark 5:41). By speaking, Jesus always delivers and heals those around Him from the work of the enemy, and so shall we!
I also find it crucial for all of us to live by the every Word God releases into our life. We must make sure that His word becomes our identity! Because someone’s word can be powerful or powerless depending on their identity. Anyone can speak the way a king speaks, but if their identity is a commoner, nothing will happen, and no one will bow in obedience to the word spoken. The sons of Sceva tried to deliver a possessed man in Jesus’ name, but were beaten and humiliated by the demonic spirits (Acts 19:13-20).
Therefore, Holy Spirit emphasizes to me that it is our responsibility to capture every Word He releases and merge ourselves with the Word, making sure that His Word molds our identity in God, positioning us to be someone filled with authority. So, when we speak, the universe will bow down, evil spirits will be subdued, and God’s plan to restore of all things could flow through our lives! Amen! #ILoveGod
