Holy Spirit makes me realize more and more that the main enemy of most believers is ‘distraction’. Demonic spirits just need to exert a simple effort, exploiting any existing human desires, the flesh, and many other inaccurate life aspects. And usually, in a whim, the believers lose their focus from God’s reality and the fulfillment of His will!
Distraction is a highly lethal weapon because believers assume that it is not dangerous; it seems normal, and everybody experiences it regularly. In truth, distraction could easily sway and lull believers. Distraction works so softly that believers often don’t realize that they are moving away from God’s reality; declining in the standard of their faith; getting used to so many inaccuracies around them; even start to compromise in various sins (and many assumed it as their tolerable weakness).
That’s why it’s very important for every believer to be ‘stern and disciplined’ with themselves.
1 Corinthians 9:27 (NKJV) But I discipline my body and bring it into subjection, lest, when I have preached to others, I myself should become disqualified.
Without knowing, even leaders/pastors often become victims of distraction, as it could come in so many ways. For example, church members are rising up in the Spirit. They start to realize that they are spiritual sons who should function as sons of encouragement for their spiritual father/leader. They start to give all kinds of special treatments for their leader/pastor. Then, without knowing the pastor/leader becomes trapped in the comfort zone, lulled by the various special treatments of their spiritual sons/congregation. Finally, they are distracted from their true assignment.
Once again, distraction could come in all forms. It could come as unceasing negative incidents, or even blessings, victories, and breakthroughs (and other conveniences in life). In short, distraction aims to ‘tone’ believers down; to make them not as persevering, determined, and all-out for God and the fulfillment of His plan, just like their old life.
Oftentimes, the enemy launches distraction together with many ‘reasonable’ excuses acceptable by many people. For example: “Well, I’m already old, of course the condition is different. I already bear so much responsibility, I can’t take risk like my younger days,” etc.
Through today’s daily devotion, I challenge all of us to once again focus on God’s reality and the fulfillment of His plan. Rise up in the power of the Spirit! Remove all dusts and crusts of this world’s pleasures. Burn them all with the fire of revival, so our spirit could once again be fervent in serving Him!
Romans 12:11 (NKJV) not lagging in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord.
It’s time for our lives to manifest the fire of revival, the spirit of divine breakthrough, and the nature of revivalists and reformers! God has revealed to me that He will give birth to revivalists and reformers Indonesia. Don’t let distractions keep twisting your spiritual journey. It’s time for us to once again pursue the reality of God’s presence, and continue our good fight of faith ‘til the finish line! #ILoveGod
