Romans 8:35-37 (NKJVWho shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written: “For Your sake we are killed all day long; We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.” Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.

If we are under tribulation, distress, persecution, famine, nakedness, peril, or sword, what is our response? Usually, negative emotions will rage within. Anger, irritation, sadness, and other negative emotions bubble within, leading us to destructive decisions, both for ourselves and others.

In an instant, that raging negative emotion ‘separates’ us from our awareness of THE REALITY OF GOD’S PRESENCE (the love of Christ). Because when negative emotions rage, we are governed by the awareness of self. In other words, negative emotion is a form of the love of self. Meanwhile, DIVINE EMOTION is a form of the LOVE OF GOD.

The cause of raging negative emotions is none other than our SELF (EGO) being disturbed. We feel undeserving to be treated unfairly, and we feel worthy to be appreciated, respected, and to receive love and attention from others. In essence, the rising negative emotions are CENTERED ON SELF.

God’s word says that we are MORE THAN CONQUERORS as HIS PEOPLE! It means, our expression in facing every negative external fact should be different from everyone else. That’s the way we could become witnesses that God is real and He is still working.

So, how should we express our emotions? We should explode in joy, thanksgiving, shouts of praise, laughter, dancing, jumping, smiling widely, and the like. Yes! We must be more expressive than those who win/conquer, for we are more than winners/ conquerors!

And remember, we can’t achieve this through human ways, and it’s not something made up as well! We could express divine emotion in all situations because the WORK OF GOD’S WORD AND SPIRIT ignites the LOVE OF THE LORD IN OUR HEART. When we love the Lord, the love of self, money, and this world will cease. GOD’S WORD AND SPIRIT WORKING IN US IS WHAT ENABLES OUR EMOTIONS TO BE DIVINE IN ALL SITUATIONS.

Then, how could we always experience the work of God’s Word and Spirit? The following passage explains its concrete steps!

Romans 8:26-28 (NASBIn the same way the Spirit also helps our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we should, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words; and He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.

1. Discipline ourselves to have time to pray in the spirit until our heart is grasped so strongly by the awareness of God’s reality.

2. Keep praying expressively until we receive God’s voice (until the Word comes upon our lives). Then, use that word as a material for our meditation and conversation with the Lord.

If we discipline ourselves just to do the two things above every day, we will be MOLDED BY THE WORK OF GOD’S WORD AND SPIRIT. The nature of any other love than the love of God (love of self, money, and this world) will be removed progressively, until they are gone just like that. Then, this is what we’ll experience: when facing negative facts and conditions, our RESPONSE becomes divine – now we are MORE THAN CONQUERORS! “And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose” (v. 28).

The sentence “AND WE KNOW” is the keyword that turns our emotion divine in our everyday life. We know that GOD HOLDS THE CONTROL OF EVERYTHING THAT IS HAPPENING; HE IS GOD WHO CONTROLS EVERYTHING. This awareness makes us calm, filled with joy, trust, and thanksgiving in facing everything.

The question is, how could WE KNOW when negative facts will come, therefore ANTICIPATING it (so we could give divine response)? We may not always know, but we could give divine response because we are TRAINED/ MOLDED by the work of God’s Word and Spirit (by praying in tongues until we receive the word). Meaning, our heart attitude and the nature of our mind has shifted. Now we could CAPTURE, REMEMBER, and UNDERSTAND quickly GOD’S MIND, WILL, and WORD whenever negative facts come. THAT WORD IS THE VERY REASON WE ARE SOLID. Our emotion could no longer be a ‘plaything of the enemy’. For our life is within the grasp of God’s word and the reality of His presence!

Remember that faith comes from hearing by the word! And by that faith, we overcome all negative facts! By faith, we are solid and unshakable! #ILoveGod
